The Fauquier County Community Development Planning Division has not formally accepted the Catlett Data Center project at this time. Once they do, the application materials will be available at the links below, under the “Attachments” tab.
After they accept the application, there will be a staff and agency review period. Then following any revisions by the applicant and additional review by staff, they will start the Public Hearing process. There will be at least one public hearing before the Planning Commission (who is a recommending body) and at least one public hearing before the Board of Supervisors (who has the approval authority).
We don’t yet know when the public hearing process will begin. To sign up for email notifications related to the agendas (or other items) you can do so at either of the links below.
All public hearings will be advertised in the paper and County website (2 weeks prior to the meeting), and the property will be posted (2 weeks prior to the meeting). Additionally, the agenda will be published (at the 1st link below) with the staff report and associated materials (one week prior to the meeting). We accept written comments prior to the public hearing and all interested parties are given an opportunity to speak at the public hearings.
Information on the Board of Supervisors can be found at the link below.
Information on the Planning Commission can be found at the link below.
Fauquier County Community Development Planning Division is currently processing a Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment to potentially allow data centers requiring new overhead power lines with approval of a Special Exception in the Business Park (BP) district. If approved, this amendment would apply County wide. Information on this amendment can be found at the link below. If you have any questions or would like to submit comments please reach out to Amy Rogers (email@example.com), who is the staff lead on the application. The Text Amendment is scheduled for Public Hearing with the Planning Commission on Thursday July 20th, the staff report and related materials will be published (at the “…./agendas” link above) on July 13th.
